According to the World Health Organization, nearly 1 in every 3 women, have experienced physical or s-xual v-olence in their lifetime.
These numbers represent real trauma, survivors denied justice, and a culture in which far too many offenders face no real consequences.
Society is in the grip of a rape culture epidemic. Survivors consistently bear the heaviest burden. We know women shouldn't have to defend themselves from routine violence, yet in the world we actually live in, many are done waiting for criminals to change.
A practical self-defense solution tailored to women's anatomy is long overdue.
This is why we’ve developed VenusGuard, a women’s personal, self-defense sleeve.
VenusGuard is a discreet, internal silicone device, similar in size and insertion method to a tampon or menstrual cup. It was designed by medical professionals to protect against vaginal penetrative assault.
If penetration occurs, it incapacitates the attacker with intense physical pain, while simultaneously providing DNA evidence for prosecution.
No special skills, strength, or training are required. Users simply gain greater peace of mind through everyday protection.
The more widely known and accessible VenusGuard becomes, the stronger its deterrent effect.
As it grows in popularity, potential offenders will understand that the risks now include severe pain, reliable identification, and a much higher likelihood of conviction.
Our goal is to create a world where potential offenders hesitate to act.
Our dedicated team is committed to our supporters. Everything we do puts survivors first and follows a trauma-informed approach. As the first product of its kind, VenusGuard naturally raises many questions. We want our supporters to know that women’s comfort and safety are always our top priority.
We have conducted extensive laboratory testing, user evaluations and wear tests. VenusGuard has been approved and endorsed by women worldwide. Our prototype performs exceptionally well for its intended purpose, proving itself to be both reliable and in high demand.
Bringing VenusGuard to the public market will require significant resources. Here is where the funds will go:
We need new production and test equipment, additional clinical evaluations, regulatory approvals, and official registration to create a reliable, high quality supply for those who need it.
Our fundraising goal is to build a high-quality production line, that will make VenusGuard available for direct sales on our website. Future global expansion is expected to be self-financed from sales. We have reached out to multiple companies and government agencies for partnerships, but they have declined or ignored or requests. These rejections largely stem from their internal business concerns and outdated stigmas around conversations about rape and survivorship.
Regardless, we firmly believe that providing women with VenusGuard is not controversial, it is a necessary option, that should be available for all women to choose for themselves.
This is why we are turning to our community to make this a grassroots reality.
